I struggled for years with various health problems. Despite multiple trips to the hospital and countless tests, my Doctors were confused as to why I was not recovering.

I battled severe body pains, coming from my muscles and joints. I had gi issues to the point I could not eat anymore, I lost an extreme amount of weight and became very lethargic. I had near constant headaches and migraines with no relief. I went to the emergency room to receive fluids, which seemed to help but never lasted more than 12 hours. I was starting to lose my memory and dissociate at random times, even during conversation. Every single time I stood up and tried to do anything, my heart rate would start climbing and I was becoming light headed and dizzy. I was beginning to fall and became very weak. Tired wasn’t even a thought at this point, I was to the point of extreme exhaustion.

I almost lost hope that I would ever feel better. I started researching and came across some medical sites that talked about rare diseases and syndromes that seemed eerily similar to what I had been experiencing.

This eventually led to my diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a rarely diagnosed connective tissue disorder. After seeing a geneticist for testing and confirmation, I felt a huge wave of relief.

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is still not well understood in the medical field, and we have some great charities who are helping us get there! My fundraiser is to help them get a little closer!
