Join me in supporting real change! Zebras, are we are known, are strong in spirit and heart, but lack strength in body due to our faulty collagen. I was formally diagnosed in January 2016 after years of specialists telling me that they did not know what was going on with my health. Looking back on my life, I see how I have had problems since my childhood. I was clumsy yet more mobile in my joints then my friends. Team sports were not my favorite as I did not run fast or have the eye/hand coordination to participate. However, I was great at marching band and playing the flute. My hands are extremely hyper-mobile which allowed me to play very fast. Unfortunately, I am paying the price now as I am unable to use my hands due to weakness, neuropathy, and dislocations.

Due to EDS and the other co-morbid conditions that I suffer, I am unable to work. This does not stop me from having hope or a positive attitude that The Ehlers-Danlos Society will soon find a cure or treatment that can help us Zebras.
