I have joined the May Awareness Month Challenge to spread awareness and raise funds to support The Ehlers-Danlos Society by participating in honor of my son and all young zebra suffering with this illness. Please support me by donating to my fundraising page. Together, even a small amount can make a huge difference!

I’ve had many health issues and chronic pain for many years before I finally was diagnosis. In hindsight there were signs in my childhood. After having my children, my symptoms worsen to the point that it completely affected my life and social interaction with the outside world. One day by chance I met a person explaining her battle with EDS and what it was. It was not until my son developed worsening symptoms that I was finally ready to accept this as a possibility, researched and strongly advocated to find the reason for all our health problems. My son was diagnosed within weeks by the best pediatric hospital in the state, at the age of six, less than three years ago. My struggle to connect my past and present medical Issues took longer. I was Diagnosed a few months after my son. It might have be late in the game for me, but I was sent an angel to give me the answer I needed to protect my son to the best of my ability from suffering my same fate. Please help me give other young zebras the same opportunity.

The Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are a group of heritable connective tissue disorders that produce a spectrum of complex problems across multiple systems of the body. Symptoms that are often seen across all types are hypermobile joints, (that can move farther than normal), stretchy skin, & fragile tissues. Each case is unique and severity may range dramatically, even within families.

The Ehlers-Danlos Society is a global community dedicated to saving & improving the lives of those affected by the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, hypermobility spectrum disorders, & related conditions. Our goal is world-wide awareness and better quality of life for all who suffer from these conditions, regardless of geography.

Please support me as I overcome my challenges with EDS to participate in the May awareness challenge by donating. Thank you!
